What We Treat — South Surrey, BC
Hip pain can come from the joint itself, the surrounding tendons and muscles, or be referred from the back.
What it is
Hip pain can come from the joint itself, the surrounding tendons and muscles, or be referred from the back. Common patterns include gluteal tendinopathy, hip impingement-type pain, and osteoarthritis.
How we treat it
After identifying the pain source, treatment combines load management, hands-on therapy, and a progressive hip strengthening program. For arthritic hips, structured exercise is one of the best-evidenced treatments available — and if a replacement is eventually needed, stronger going in means faster recovery coming out.
